Bathmate Day 3: All About the Seal

April 1, 2012 by Pumpy

Despite a bad start, I'm finally getting into a routine and am dedicated to finishing this 30 day challenge. I'm currently 3 days in, and am noticing a couple things.

A Good Seal is Crucial

If you do give the Bathmate a try, just be sure to get a good seal. It makes all the difference. By my 3rd time using it (for 20 minutes, as directed in the manual), I finally was able to get a comfortable seal. The first couple times I could feel some testicular discomfort, as the pressure inside the tube all but wanted to pull everything on in. I learned this was because I was wearing the pump too low. Readjusting it and moving it up higher took care of the discomfort, and the seal was 3x better.

The best seal is as high as you can place the unit on your pubic area. Be sure to not seal the unit unevenly (towards one side of your dingdong). It should be centered but placed as high up (as far away from your balls) as possible. It's day 5 and I've noticed some bruising on one side of my pubic area because I off-centered it, and that side got more a lot more pressure from the vacuum.

My Measurements

I'm going to save the actual measurements for the end of the challenge (the suspense!), and until then will instead let you know what my Bathmate measurements are. On the outside of the tube is a ruler in MM's that lets you guage what length you have reached.

  • Day 1 - Reached 110 mm's, for full 20 minutes
  • Day 2 - Reached 120 mm's for almost 10 minutes, had to readjust for comfort and dropped down to 110.
  • Day 3 - 120 mm's for 20 minutes.   Kinda sore, but fought through it.

How I Am Dealing With Soreness

I haven't been too sore, except around my balls from the first failed use of the thing. To help with circulation and minimize bruising I am using an L-Arganine gel. This gel in particular has peppermint oil in it, so not only does it keep me from bruising, but also cools the area. Feels great, and seems to be working so far. L-Arginine is known for increasing bloodflow, which battles bruising.

Observations

My flaccid size has increased, and I'm sure this is due to the improved blood flow the Bathmate is helping to promote. You can find more observations in my initial Hercules review.
