Is Kratom Good For Sex and Libido?
Kratom has become a hero to many; a natural painkiller that increases energy and mood, or relaxes and sedates.
To some it is an escape from the drugs they have become dependent on. For others it is a way to become more sociable or get through a hard day of laborious work.
And sex? Yep. It’s even suggested that Kratom has the ability to increase sexual desire.
So how can a plant leaf have so many affects, many of which are contradicting?
The answer: it has to do with how much you take.
But when it comes to Kratom, the right dose is a tough thing to gauge.
Brief Overview
The active compounds in the plant are alkaloids, the 2 most famous being mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, of which are most responsible for Kratoms morphine-like effects.
The problem is, no two Kratom leaves will ever contain the same concentration of alkaloids, and because so, effects vary leaf-to-leaf, powder-to-powder, and pill-to-pill.
To circumvent this problem, sellers offer red, white, yellow, chocolate, and green Kratom products. The colors indicate the color of the vein (red or white) or color of the leaf (yellow, green) when picked; both of which are influenced by the time of year, amount of sunlight, and maturity of leaf. Each color having its own unique set of alkaloids and concentration.
Sellers use names like Bali, or Borneo, to indicate the geographic region the leaf has come from. For instance, the Kratom product Yellow Borneo would indicate the leaf was harvested yellow in the country of Borneo.
In theory this should add a certain degree of consistency to the product, but it only goes so far. It’s been found that the more a Kratom tree is harvested of its leaves, the higher the alkaloid content the newly grown leaves will have.
With 40 known possible alkaloids, each having its own effect, and found in a varying degree in each color and age of leaf in different geographic region -there’s a huge amount of room for inconsistency.
This pretty much means that unless each batch of Kratom is tested, and alkaloids accounted for, there’s no way of knowing how strong or weak your Kratom product is, or even the totality of its effects.
Then, there’s the matter of tolerance. The longer you take it the more product you have to take to achieve desirable effect. This opens the door to negative effects, from which may come from the plants lesser-known sidekick alkaloids, or the heroes themselves: mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine.
Add to this the possibility of contaminants like mold, salmonella, heavy metals, and you might just be playing painkiller roulette.
Why am I telling you this? After 4 years of testing Kratom, first going on-and-off to full-on living the Kratom Lifestyle, this is the understanding I’ve come to.
So now that you have some background, let’s talk about how it can help and hinder sex.
Sex
Orgasm. It’s pretty much the point of sex. She orgasms. You orgasm. It feels great!
Kratom can make you feel carefree, which can evoke feelings of confidence, which translates well to the bedroom.
Or at least, depending on your skills, can make you feel like you are doing a great job.
If you are a minute-man, or want to experience long sessions, or what it’s like to have more control over your orgasm, then you might feel like Kratom has given you sexual powers.
Improved stamina and control are the greatest possible benefits Kratom can have in sex.
It’s tough to argue with these benefits. Not having to try hard controlling an orgasm, especially when the goal is to give her as many as possible, can feel great.
But, these sexual powers come at a price.
Libido
What’s sex without libido? Pretty empty. Sex without libido is walking to the front of an empty line to get on a roller coaster that provides little to no rush.
When you take high doses, or take Kratom daily you eventually feel this in sex. You may feel great and care free, but sex drive and orgasms become BLEH.
You wake up groggy, oversleep, and who knows if you even get morning wood anymore. These effects could indicate a neurotransmitter and hormone imbalance, which have a negative impact on libido.
On top of this your muscle mass sheds off, and you find yourself peeing yellow all the freaking time.
Oh yeah, totally healthy.
BOO-YAH!
It’s the Kratom Lifestyle, baby.
The Sweet Spot
Everything has a sweet spot, Kratom included.
The right dose may be hard to find, but when it is achieved you may find confidence and interest in sex increase. Along with that are the performance benefits of stamina and ejaculatory control. This means you may last longer and in turn satisfy her longer.
But, take too much over a period of time and orgasm intensity and sexual desire crash. Your erections aren’t as strong and you may not be able to achieve orgasm at all.
This is the delicate tightrope you walk when you take Kratom regularly.
It’s likely that the regular users that claim no side-effects while living the Kratom Lifestyle are modulating the negative effects with drugs or supplements and dietary tweaks. Because supplementation and dietary factors vary from person to person, it would take a strong understanding of your own health and chemistry to modulate negative effects.
Kratoms interactions are still largely unstudied and unknown, as are its long term effects. Recent interest in this herbal supplement has encouraged funding for further research.
The Most Common Side-Effects of Kratom Are:
- Constipation
- Mental fog
- Hot flashes
- Jerky movement
